We have been enjoying our EcoFlow Portable Battery and its ability to provide portable power and recharge via solar panels. This solution covers most of our needs, but is still vulnerable to extended periods of cloudy weather (or significant shade) and we wanted a backup solution. Honda and its competitors also offer many other variations depending on your budget, noise tolerence, and power needs. We’ve enjoyed our new trailer for a year, but there are a few upgrades we identified fairly quickly that we wanted to make, and upgrading the batteries was at the top of the list. Our Airstream came with 2 80Ah AGM batteries. These were totally insufficient for our needs. Even with the 300W of rooftop solar installed on the trailer, our energy needs exceeded the capacity of the stock batteries. As we embark on our first full season with the SpaceCamper, we are already adding a few key accessories. The trailer came with 2 80Ah AGM batteries, and 300W of roof top solar with an integrated Victron Energy Blue Solar MPPT 150/35 charger. Unfortunately, this is not enough power for the SpaceCamper in anything but ideal conditions. With the industry moving from dual-fuel (electricity + propane) refrigerators to pure electric, the power draw on days that you are not getting full sun on the roof top solar will quickly result in a depleted battery. This is especially true if you are running the furnace at night (while it uses propane to heat, the fans is still a big energy draw). ...

Our first outing with the SpaceCamper was to Bear Creek Lake campground in Morrison, CO After picking up our new camper from Airstream of Colorado we took it out for a quick night to make sure everything worked as expected. Everything went well and we are excited for our future adventures!
